Erik Warner, Ed.D., is the Special Education Coordinator at William Henry Middle School. Prior to this position, he was an Autism Spectrum Disorder Special Education Teacher in the Transition Program of Project SEACRH Bayhealth in the Capital School District. In that role, Dr. Warner provided personalized instruction in functional workplace literacy and independent living skills for students, ages 18 to 22, who have moderate to severe exceptionalities, with the goal of having them find and keep meaningful, satisfying employment. He received an undergraduate degree in Organizational Management from Thomas Edison University, a master’s degree in Special Education with Autism Spectrum Disorder Certification from Wilmington University (WU), and a doctoral degree in Education Leadership and Innovation from WU. Dr. Warner graduated from WU with honors and in 2016 he was inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) International Honor Society in Education. He currently serves as President of the KDP Chapter, Chi Pi, at WU. Inspiring lifelong learners has always been a passion of his. Prior to his calling to work with students with exceptionalities, Dr. Warner worked in the corporate environment for over 20 years, with a focus on organizational effectiveness and employee development. He held positions of National Vice President of Education for the Mail Systems Management Association, Director of Communications for American Society of Training and Development Maryland Chapter, International Training Consultant with Pitney Bowes Inc., and Regional Training Manager for Pitney Bowes Management Services. In partnership with the GACEC and Cancan Productions, Dr. Warner created a series of professional learning videos for Delaware teachers on how to deliver effective on-line learning, how to foster student-led IEP meetings, and how to promote parent involvement in the IEP process. Dr. Warner serves on the GACEC in the role of teacher of students with disabilities and currently is the Vice-Chairperson of the Council.
